Cles
Holbrook
For
almost 30 years Cles Holbrook has followed the Contemporary Christian
Music Industry, beginning as a fan of the early pioneers: Keith
Green, Daniel Amos, Randy Stonehill, Phil Keagy, and Larry Norman.
In 1980 Cles Holbrook started as a staff announcer at a small Christian
Station in NE Ohio. He moved to another station in Youngstown, Ohio
in 1983 and then to the Program Directors chair in 1985 at WKTX
FM in Mercer, Pennsylvania. While at WKTX, Cles would join the Gospel
Music Association (GMA) and become active in the balloting and voting
process for the Industry’s highest recognition “The
Dove Awards”. Cles would assist in concert promotion for the
NE Ohio and Western PA region, bringing the top Christian acts of
the time to the region. In the 90’s Cles went on to work in
Akron, Ohio and spent several years in mainstream radio, all while
remaining close to his roots in Contemporary Christian Music, providing
a weekly Christian music program aside from his daily routine. In
1998 Cles married Davina and together they produced “The Alternative”,
a daily Contemporary Christian Music program airing in their hometown,
Warren, Ohio. During this time the idea of Contemporary Christian
music on the internet was born.
Cles lives with his wife, Davina, and three sons:
Zachary, Anthony and Tyler. In early 2005 they will move into a
brand new Log Home, designed and built by his father-in-law. This
home will be home to not only the Holbrook Family, but to the studios
and offices of No Limit Communications, the Parent Company of Knet180radio.com.
Knet180radio’s
vision:
The
idea for knet180radio.com goes back almost 4 years to the spring
of 2001. Cles and Davina Holbrook had been searching for a way to
spread Contemporary Christian Music, specifically Christian music
aimed at the young adult to the area and beyond. Terrestrial Radio
ahd offered little opportunity, so after much prayer, thought and
research knet180radio.com was born, on April 1, 2004.
The “K” stands for “King”
as in our King, Lord and Savior. The “net” refers to
the net we need to use when “fishing for men”. The “180”
is the degree to which we turn when our lives around to follow God.
Knet180radio.com is actually just the first stream
of several that No Limit Communications plans to launch over the
next 18-24 months. We will launch a more aggressive modern rock/alternative
stream, modern worship stream, classic Christian stream, and others.
Our goal is to lift up the body of Christ in a way
not being done in traditional media, be it radio, tv or the internet.
We want our Home Page to be your Homepage. We offer news, weather,
music news, shopping, and great music all on one convenient, easy
to use site. Our main goal is not to be preachy, but to offer you
the best of everything. We will have a daily devotional (daily devo)
that you can sign up to receive that is provided by Refugecentral.com.
We will also have a KnetKlub that you can join to receive updates
on a regular basis.
Our mission is clear, our focus is Jesus.
We
would appreciate your prayers of support, we also welcome your comments/suggestions.
Email them to us at info@knet180radio.com.
Davina
Holbrook
Davina
Holbrook, Co-founder of knet180radio.com partnered with Cles’s
vision to spread Contemporary Christian Music as far as they can
take it. Davina’s background and skills in management, sales
and marketing provide the perfect fit to Cles’s vision. While
Cles knew what needed to be done, Davina often is the one finding
the way to do it. Through her efforts with Cles, they operate not
just Knet180radio.com but the NE Ohio Branch of Operation Christmas
Child, a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse that sends out over
6 million shoe boxes to 98 countries. The Trumbull County Relay
Center that Davina is the Coordinator of, came in third in their
region for # of shoe boxes collected, and was one of the only Center’s
to increase the number of shoeboxes collected in 2003. She has built
a team of over 20 people to assist in running the Center year round,
something that none of the other Relay Centers do in the country.
Cles and Davina have three boys to raise at home
and are heavily involved in their home church, Believer’s
Christian Fellowship, as part of the Leadership Team for the Children’s
Ministry, SuperKids, which ministers to over 300 children a week.
Davina’s goal is fulfill her calling on the
earth and she lets nothing stop her from achieving her goals. “Davina
is the “Linchpin” to the knet operation”, according
to her husband and co-founder, Cles Holbrook. Her love for Christian
music came later in life, but God changed her so miraculously that
nobody that knows her can doubt His influence in/on her life.
